چکیده

The emergence of new COVID-19 infection aggravated the existing issues and gave rise to challenges associated with impact viruses on atherosclerotic process development cardiovascular complications. Atherosclerosis is a multifactorial disease its progression largely determined by dyslipidemia chronic low-grade systemic vascular inflammation. There are number known be involved in maintaining inflammatory state through prolonged viral persistence replication macrophages whose plasticity changes due infection. can trigger pro-atherogenic cytokine response diverse macrophage-dependent mechanisms. lack data regarding infections monocyte/macrophage possible control inflammation atherogenesis. It still unclear whether relationships between diseases atherosclerosis causal or merely associative. In this review, we summarize critically analyze current knowledge virus-related mechanisms promoting atherosclerosis.

Macrophages, oxysterols and atherosclerosis.

Macrophages play central roles in immunity and homeostasis, and contribute to the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis through their accumulation of cholesterol and the production of inflammatory mediators and cytokines. Recent studies indicate that oxysterols influence diverse aspects of macrophage biology. Rather than simply being intermediates of cholesterol catabolism, oxysterols are also potent...

Vaccination against Mosquito Borne Viral Infections: Current Status

Mosquito borne infectious diseases are among important group of diseases worldwide. Vaccination is available for some tropical mosquito-borne diseases, especially for Japa-nese encephalitis virus infection and yellow fever. There are also several attempts to develop new vaccines for the other mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue infection and West Nile virus infection. In this articl...

HLA-KIR Interactions and Immunity to Viral Infections

Host genetic factors play a central role in determining the clinical phenotype of human diseases. Association between two polymorphic loci in human genome, human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs), and genetically complex infectious disease, particularly those of viral etiology, have been historically elusive. Hence, defining the influence of genetic di...

CD36 and macrophages in atherosclerosis.

CD36 is a multi-ligand scavenger receptor present on the surface of a number of cells such as platelets, monocytes/macrophages, endothelial and smooth muscle cells. Monocyte/macrophage CD36 has been shown to play a critical role in the development of atherosclerotic lesions by its capacity to bind and endocytose oxidized low density lipoproteins (OxLDL), and it is implicated in the formation of...
